The widow of a Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) youth leader in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) of Rivers State has appealed for justice after her husband was allegedly killed by suspected gunmen.
In a video shared by Channels Television, the widow said she was away searching for the family’s daily needs when she received news that gunmen had attacked her husband along Oba Road.
According to her, the attackers shot her husband and four women who were at the scene, leaving all five victims dead. She said her husband’s body has been deposited in a mortuary and appealed to authorities to bring those responsible to justice.
“I received shocking news that unknown gunmen came to Oba Road and shot him dead, with four other women, all of them are dead. My husband is now lying in the mortuary, lifeless. Please you people should help me,” she said.
A community resident also confirmed the attack, stating that the assailants opened fire on people gathered at a local spot. The resident said community members responded after receiving an alert but were unable to save the victims because their injuries were too severe.
