Rivers State elder statesman Dr. Robinson Ewor has said Governor Siminalayi Fubara would gain little political advantage by joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC) or any other political party, arguing that aligning with the Rainbow Coalition remains his most practical option.
Speaking on The Morning Show in an interview published on the official Arise News YouTube channel on Thursday, July 23, 2026, Ewor said the political movement associated with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has become a dominant force in Rivers State.
He argued that switching political parties would not restore Fubara’s political strength or significantly improve his position, describing reconciliation with Wike’s political structure as a strategic decision shaped by political realities.
“Even if Fubara goes to the ADC today or any other political party, it won’t make any meaning,” Ewor said.
He described the Rainbow Coalition as the “moving train,” suggesting it has the momentum to remain a major force in Rivers politics ahead of the 2027 general elections. According to Ewor, the coalition offers Fubara the strongest platform to preserve his political future, while another party may not provide the influence, organisational structure, or grassroots support needed to strengthen his position.
