A Canada-based Nigerian woman, identified as Ezinne, has publicly apologised to her husband after facing widespread criticism for a social media post celebrating the death of her mother-in-law.
In a video addressed to her husband, Ezinne admitted she was wrong to publish the post and asked for forgiveness.
“I am making this video to apologise to my husband; I should not have done that. I am apologising for what I did, and I know and hope my husband forgives me for that. Honey, I am very sorry for posting your mother on Facebook, and I ask for forgiveness,” she said.
The apology follows backlash over a Facebook post in which Ezinne shared the funeral banner of her late mother-in-law, Comfort Chika Nwanorue, describing her as a “wicked witch” and making inflammatory remarks about her death.
The couple had previously attracted public attention after Ezinne required her husband to swear an oath of fidelity before relocating to Canada. They later returned to the spotlight when she accused him of violating that oath through an alleged extramarital affair. Her latest apology has prompted fresh reactions online, with many expressing hope for a reconciliation.
