Striker Hands in Transfer Request to Force Move After Arsenal and Chelsea Interest Revealed

Lille striker Matias Fernandez-Pardo has submitted a transfer request amid growing interest from Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Atletico Madrid, according to Football London.

The 21-year-old Belgium international, who featured in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, has informed Lille of his desire to leave during the current transfer window. French outlet L’Equipe reported that Fernandez-Pardo and his new representative held talks with Lille president Olivier Létang on Tuesday.

However, Létang insisted the club has no intention of selling the forward, who is under contract until 2029.

“The player is under contract until 2029, and his departure is not an issue. We are counting on him, he knows that, and we have been very clear with him,” Létang said, adding that the striker has no release clause.

Fernandez-Pardo joined Lille from Gent in 2024 for a reported €10 million (£8.6 million) and has recorded 12 goals and 11 assists in 71 appearances. Lille are planning for him to lead their attack next season, particularly with Hamza Igamane recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury, while veteran Olivier Giroud is expected to provide experienced support.
