Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk is set to return to football after the Football Association lifted his anti-doping suspension, concluding disciplinary proceedings against the Ukrainian international.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Mudryk will rejoin Chelsea’s first-team squad and link up with head coach Xabi Alonso during the club’s pre-season tour in Hong Kong, ending an absence of almost two years.
The 25-year-old had been sidelined since an anti-doping case was opened, preventing him from playing while the investigation was ongoing. The FA’s decision now clears him to resume his career and compete for a place in Alonso’s squad.
Mudryk joined Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk in a high-profile transfer reportedly worth around €100 million and was regarded as one of Europe’s brightest attacking talents. However, he struggled for consistency before his suspension interrupted his progress.
With Chelsea strengthening their attacking options during the summer transfer window, Mudryk will face increased competition but will use pre-season to rebuild his fitness, regain match sharpness, and stake his claim for a regular place in the team.
