“Look, As a Person, I Don’t Have Any Restraint; I Want APC and Tinubu Defeated Out of Power” – Lukman

According to a report by Vanguard on August 1, 2026, former National Vice Chairman (North-West) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Salihu Moh. Lukman, has warned that divisions within the opposition could strengthen President Bola Tinubu and the ruling APC ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Lukman urged opposition leaders, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, to set aside personal ambitions and build a united political alliance capable of challenging the APC.

He argued that many Nigerians desire a change of government, but said the opposition’s current level of disunity could undermine that goal. According to him, effective political competition requires coordination, organisation and a shared vision.

Expressing his personal position, Lukman said he wants President Tinubu and the APC voted out of office in 2027 but is frustrated by what he described as the opposition’s lack of unity.

“As a person, I don’t have any restraint; I want APC and President Tinubu defeated out of government in 2027, but the way we are going about it, I am frustrated, I must be honest,” he said.
