At least five people were killed and 10 others injured after overnight Ukrainian drone strikes targeted three warehouse facilities across Russia, according to Russian officials.
According to a Reuters report published on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, two of the sites were warehouses operated by online retailer Wildberries. The company said one of its facilities near St. Petersburg caught fire after being struck but reported no casualties. Another Wildberries warehouse in Russia’s Tver region also sustained damage, though Acting Governor Vitaly Korolyov said no injuries were recorded.
The deadliest attack occurred in the Moscow region, where a drone strike sparked a fire at a warehouse in the city of Chekhov. Regional Governor Andrei Vorobyov said five people were killed as emergency responders battled the blaze.
The attacks form part of Ukraine’s broader campaign to target infrastructure inside Russia, which Kyiv says is aimed at disrupting logistics and bringing the effects of the war closer to Russian territory.
Wildberries founder and Chief Executive Tatyana Kim condemned the repeated strikes, describing them as “acts of terrorism.”
