Osimhen’s Galatasaray Future in Doubt as Salary Dispute and Captain’s Armband Snub Fuel Exit Talks

Victor Osimhen’s future at Galatasaray has come under renewed scrutiny amid reports of a salary dispute and growing speculation that the Nigerian striker could leave before the transfer window closes.

According to Vanguard on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, Osimhen is unhappy after reportedly going three months without receiving his salary, a situation said to have strained his relationship with the Turkish champions.

The speculation intensified during Galatasaray’s 3-3 pre-season draw with French club Rennes on Sunday, where the Super Eagles forward reportedly declined the captain’s armband when it was offered to him.

Despite the uncertainty, Galatasaray are reportedly determined to keep the 27-year-old. The club is said to have rejected a €60 million bid from Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea are also reported to be monitoring Osimhen’s situation as they look to strengthen their attack, while Atletico Madrid have reportedly made enquiries about the striker’s salary package. Reports further claim Osimhen’s representative recently travelled to Madrid for discussions over a potential move.

With only weeks remaining in the transfer window, Osimhen’s future remains unresolved.
