Security operatives rescue kidnap victim in Rivers

Security operatives have rescued a kidnap victim in Ikwere Local Government Area of Rivers State 

 

The victim was rescued along the Airport–Ipo New Road on Thursday, August 6, 2026. 

 

The security operation was led by the Chairman of Ikwerre LGA, Hon. Charles Wobodo. 

 

According to reports, Wobodo swiftly mobilized security agencies after receiving a distress call from an eyewitness. 

 

The security operatives searched the surrounding bush where the victim had been taken.

 

The victim was successfully rescued, while security agencies have launched efforts to track down and arrest the kidnappers

 

Speaking after the operation, Hon. Wobodo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property, urging residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security authorities.
