New details have emerged about the operations of the controversial Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), with reports indicating that three federal civil servants were officially posted to the agency in 2025 before it was later disowned by the Presidency.
According to The Nation, citing documents published on the website of the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF), the officers—Ojo Victor, Assistant Chief Accountant; Omeh Amarachukwu, Internal Auditor; and Wakili Saidu, Audit Officer—were deployed to the PFIPC on August 28, 2025. They are also listed as witnesses in the criminal case involving Prince Matthew Adeniyi Adeyemi, who allegedly presented himself as the council’s Director-General.
Investigators reportedly found that Adeyemi wrote to the Accountant-General on April 4, 2025, requesting the deployment of accounting and audit personnel, as well as the transfer of two officials from the Office of the Chief Economic Adviser to the President.
The officers told investigators they presented their posting letters on September 1 and resumed duty on September 8, but were given a shared office without any official responsibilities. “We were given an open office where the three of us were sitting down without doing anything,” Victor said, adding that he had never heard of the PFIPC before receiving his posting letter and only visited the office once or twice a week because no duties were assigned to him.
