Nollywood actress Ruth Kadiri has spoken about the growing use of artificial intelligence among Christians for guidance and problem-solving.
In a video shared on her Instagram page, the actress said that AI is increasingly replacing spiritual dependence, warning believers not to lose touch with their faith.
Ruth Kadiri said that while AI can provide quick answers and solutions, it should not take the place of what she described as the guidance of the Holy Spirit, which she believes offers deeper direction and clarity.
She explained that many people now rely on AI tools to handle personal challenges, but argued that such technology cannot provide true emotional or spiritual fulfilment.
According to her, AI is only a modern imitation of something that already exists in faith, and its growing popularity comes from how advanced and attractive it appears.
She also shared a personal experience, saying she once felt mentally drained and distracted, but after praying, she regained focus, strength, and direction the following day.
The actress noted that more people are gradually moving away from spiritual practices and real-life community support, leaning instead on digital tools for answers.
Kadiri warned that Christians risk becoming overly dependent on technology and forgetting what she described as the spiritual help already available to them.
“A lot of Christians are starting to take their problems to AI, solve this for me, sort this for me, and they are starting to forget that it was first invented by God for his children to meet all of our emotional needs.
” If Christians are not careful, we will end up assuming that these apps will solve our problems, but we wake up years later and realise we don’t feel fulfilled.
“We are starting to neglect the power God gave us as Christians, our helper, which is the Holy Spirit,” she advised.
Kadiri also added that there is a wider struggle playing out in the world, where negative forces are trying to reshape human thinking by copying what already exists in faith.
