Atiku Has Been Investigated at Home and Abroad; As We Speak, There Is No Pending Case Against Him — Sanni

Shola Sanni, Strategic Media Associate to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has defended his principal against allegations of corruption, saying Atiku does not face any pending criminal case despite years of investigations.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television on Friday, July 24, 2026, Sanni described Atiku as one of Nigeria’s most scrutinised politicians, arguing that extensive investigations conducted both within and outside the country had not resulted in any criminal charges.

“Allow me to tell you something. Until Atiku Abubakar, no Nigerian politician had been the subject of such a comprehensive investigation. No charges are now pending against him, despite extensive domestic and international investigations,” Sanni said.

He maintained that the absence of any active criminal case should dispel doubts about the former vice president’s integrity, adding that critics had failed to produce evidence capable of sustaining criminal charges.

According to Sanni, Atiku has remained a prominent figure in Nigerian politics despite years of public scrutiny, and the lack of any pending legal case reflects the outcome of those investigations.
