Isaac Fayose has said his elder brother, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, has been financially successful for years, reacting to his appointment as chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
In a video shared on his Facebook page, Isaac downplayed the significance of the appointment, noting that Ayo Fayose was named chairman of a government agency rather than being appointed a minister or ambassador.
He recalled that his brother had previously told him he would not seek another public office after leaving the Ekiti State Government House, preferring to concentrate on his private business.
According to Isaac, Ayo Fayose had been a billionaire long before the appointment, arguing that the position was not needed for his financial well-being.
Isaac also questioned the timing of the appointment, claiming it came shortly after Labour Party ally Peter Obi visited him. He suggested the move was intended to influence or create division within the family, describing it as a “Greek gift.”
“He’s doing well in private business. Because he has been a billionaire since when I was a baby,” Isaac said.
