Elder statesman and political analyst, Chief Dan Ulasi, has expressed strong confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will successfully complete his tenure and likely win re-election in 2027, unless divine intervention changes the course of events. Speaking during an interview on Symfoni TV, Ulasi said that Tinubu’s political structure, influence, and resilience make him a formidable force in Nigerian politics.
According to him, “He will finish his election in 2027 unless God stops him, because it’s only God that can stop him.” Ulasi explained that Tinubu’s political journey — from surviving the Obasanjo era as Lagos governor to becoming president — demonstrates an uncommon level of endurance, planning, and strategic intelligence.
“Tinubu is not new to challenges. He has been fighting political battles since 1999, and every time people underestimate him, he comes out stronger. His understanding of Nigerian politics is deeper than most of his contemporaries,” Ulasi stated.
He pointed out that Tinubu’s political network across regions remains one of his biggest assets, making him difficult to dislodge through conventional opposition strategies. “You can’t take away the man’s influence. He has people in every part of this country who owe their rise in politics to him. That’s the kind of structure that wins elections, not noise,” Ulasi said.
However, he also emphasized that only divine power could alter the president’s political future. “I am not saying he is perfect. I am saying he has built a system that will carry him through unless God says otherwise. That’s how strong his political foundation is,” he added.
Ulasi further noted that Nigeria’s opposition parties, particularly the PDP and Labour Party, are currently too divided to mount a serious challenge. “The PDP has zoned their presidency to the South, but nobody has emerged yet. The Labour Party is struggling with internal issues. While they are busy fighting each other, Tinubu is consolidating power quietly,” he said.
The veteran politician urged Nigerians to learn from Tinubu’s political consistency and strategic approach. “Whether you like him or not, Tinubu understands power. He plans long-term, builds alliances, and rewards loyalty. That’s how politics works,” Ulasi explained.
He concluded by saying that only a united and credible opposition — or divine will — could change the 2027 political outcome. “If you look at Nigeria’s political terrain today, the only thing that can stop Tinubu is God. Not propaganda, not social media, not empty threats — only God,” Ulasi declared.
