According to a report by The Times of Israel on Friday, July 31, 2026, China has confirmed that none of its citizens were injured after an Iranian attack damaged a building owned by a Chinese company in Kuwait.
Speaking at a regular Foreign Ministry briefing, spokesperson Mao Ning said the affected premises sustained damage but that all Chinese nationals linked to the facility were safe. She added that Beijing had closely monitored the situation and verified there were no casualties involving Chinese citizens.
While welcoming the absence of injuries, Mao said the incident highlighted the growing security risks facing foreign nationals and businesses amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
China called on the Kuwaiti government to strengthen security around Chinese businesses, diplomatic facilities and other institutions, stressing the need to protect foreign workers and investments.
Beijing also reiterated its longstanding position that dialogue and diplomacy remain the best path to resolving the regional crisis, urging all parties to exercise restraint and avoid actions that could further escalate tensions.
Kuwaiti authorities are continuing to assess the damage and investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack.
