The City Boy Movement has announced plans to mobilise 10 million youth votes for President Bola Tinubu in the next general election, urging its members to intensify grassroots engagement in support of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to a report by The Nation published on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, the target was unveiled during the opening dinner of the organisation’s maiden National Retreat at the State House in Abuja.
Addressing participants, the movement’s patron, Seyi Tinubu, said the organisation had evolved from a campaign platform into a nationwide network focused on national development, leadership, and citizen engagement. He commended members from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory for their commitment, describing the movement as a growing network promoting democratic values, volunteerism, and youth participation in governance.
While acknowledging that many Nigerians continue to feel the impact of ongoing economic reforms, Seyi Tinubu said the administration was beginning to record progress in economic stability, infrastructure, agriculture, security, and education. He urged members to communicate government policies responsibly, using facts while showing empathy toward citizens affected by the reforms.
Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Francis Shoga, said achieving the target of 10 million youth votes would require sustained grassroots mobilisation rather than relying solely on social media campaigns. He called on members to build a disciplined organisation capable of educating communities and mobilising support across the country.
Also speaking at the retreat, the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Mariya Mahmoud, commended the movement for promoting patriotism and national unity. Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande encouraged young Nigerians to play more active roles in leadership and governance.
The retreat brought together national leaders, state coordinators, and members of the City Boy Movement to review the organisation’s activities, strengthen mobilisation strategies, and deepen support for the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Vice President Kashim Shettima’s son, Kashim Shettima Jr., also urged members to remain united as they work to expand the movement’s reach across the country.
