The Ministry of Education has strongly condemned the violent incident at Obuasi Senior High Technical School (O’SHTS), describing the attack as criminal and unacceptable.
In a statement signed by the Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, on Wednesday, August 5, the Ministry said acts of violence and lawlessness have no place in Ghana’s educational institutions.
“The Ministry unequivocally condemns this criminal act and reiterates that violence and lawlessness have no place in our schools,” the statement said.
The condemnation follows an incident in which the school’s headmaster was allegedly attacked by some students, leading to the temporary closure of the institution.

The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has directed the Ghana Education Service (GES) to immediately investigate the incident and ensure that all persons found responsible are sanctioned.
According to the Ministry, the investigation must be conducted in accordance with the laws and regulations governing Ghana’s education sector.
