Every Single Thing I Tell the Opposition Always Comes to Pass, and I’m Telling You Obi Will Not Be on the Ballot — Shield

Political commentator Henry Shield has predicted that Labour Party figure Peter Obi may not appear on the ballot in the 2027 general election.

Speaking during an interview with SYMFONI TV on the recent Federal High Court judgment involving the registration of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Shield said political developments suggest significant challenges lie ahead for the opposition.

According to him, “Every single thing I tell the opposition always comes to pass, and I am telling you today Peter Obi will not be on the ballot.”

Shield linked his prediction to the court dispute over the NDC’s registration, claiming the legal developments followed a pattern he had previously anticipated. He said he had earlier warned that court decisions would shape opposition politics ahead of the 2027 election and maintained that his previous forecasts had proved accurate.

During the interview, the host described the statement as a conjecture and questioned the basis for the prediction. Shield responded that his position was based on his assessment of political developments rather than personal speculation.

He also criticized the judiciary, alleging it has lost its independence in politically sensitive cases, and urged opposition parties to rethink their strategy ahead of the 2027 general election.
