Nigerian lawyer Aloy Ejimakor has dismissed claims that Nollywood actor Hanks Anuku is ill or using drugs following the circulation of a viral video showing the actor sitting by a roadside and talking to himself.
In a post on his official X account on June 28, 2026, Ejimakor said Anuku was rehearsing for a movie role using what he described as the actor’s unique method of preparing for performances.
He stated that the actor has employed the same rehearsal technique on previous occasions and rejected speculation about his health or well-being.
“Hanks Anuku is neither sick nor on drugs; it’s his own unique way of rehearsing a role he would play in a movie. And this is not the first time he has chosen this method. I know this for a fact because he’s my in-law,” Ejimakor wrote.
The statement came in response to widespread social media reactions to the viral video, with Ejimakor seeking to clarify the circumstances surrounding the actor’s appearance.
