I usually forgot my hairbrush whenever I visited him, so I used his shoe brush to brush my hair. I have natural hair. It’s always trimmed low. I went to his house, took his shoe brush, and it had strands of long hair. There was also another toothbrush that looked like it had been used to apply gel—dark and with compact bristles.
Suddenly, I knew there was a woman involved. I asked if any of his female friends visited him. If he was smart, he would have known that question was born out of suspicion. He said, “What are you saying? What are my friends coming to do here?”
One weekend, he asked if I would come around. I told him I needed to go and help my mother. In the evening, I went to his place unannounced. Immediately he saw me, he asked, “Ah, didn’t you go to your mom’s place again? I was just about stepping out, so let’s go.”
He threw his hand around my shoulder and pulled me to follow him. I didn’t. I asked him to go and come back. He said he might not even come back. We were arguing when this lady, in my nightie, walked out of the bedroom, apparently to see what was going on.
I screamed, “I knew it! I knew there was a fire behind your actions.” The lady went back. Just when I was about to follow, he pulled me back and dragged me out of the room. He whispered, “Hey, hey, hey, don’t come and destroy the relationship between me and my destiny helper. She’s rich. She’s helping me with a business that will help me settle and marry you as soon as possible.”
I don’t know why he thought that was enough to calm me down. I wanted to talk to the girl and see who she really was. He didn’t allow me but rather pulled me out of the compound and stayed with me until, hours later, I told him it was over and that he should never ever come close to me again.

What Nobody Tells You About Divorce
Of course, he came again. This time, he came with a master plan, that my behavior got the girl upset, so I should go and apologize so he would be able to get more help from her. The way I shut the door on his face, if he had stood an inch closer, the door would have hit his face and broken the lips he used to tell lies.
Why do some men behave like that? What will ever be enough for you? And what will a woman do to make a man not cheat on her? I’m tired of walking away because of cheating. Isn’t there one truthful man in the universe that is easy to find?
