
A husband has found the remains of five de@d babies hidden in cardboard boxes following an argument with his wife soon after she gave birth.
The bodies were found on Monday morning, July 27, at a house in Orange, south-east France.
The 32-year-old wife, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was reported to police by her husband and local prosecutors have now opened a criminal investigation.
An investigating source said: “The woman was complaining about abdominal pain when they argued on Sunday.
“The husband stayed behind when she was taken to hospital, and looked inside the cardboard boxes they had been arguing over – that’s when he found the five de@d babies.
“All the foetuses were decomposing, and had a been around for quite a while.”

The boxes containing the remains of the babies were all in the same plastic bag.
A source close to the investigation told Le Parisien that the man took the bag to the hospital, which reported the incident to police.
The source told the outlet the woman had suffered three failed pregnancies before giving birth on Monday, July 27.
The couple have two other living children, aged eight and twelve, as well as the newborn.
They are now involved in the enquiry opened by Carpentras prosecutor’s office.
There have been no arrests in connection with the case yet.
The woman remains in hospital and has not been taken into custody.
