Social media activist Mark Justice, popularly known as Justice Crack, has denied allegations by Defence Minister Christopher Musa that he instructed Nigerian soldiers to remove meat from their meals to make their food appear inadequate in a viral video.
The denial followed comments by Musa during an interview on News Central, where he dismissed claims of poor feeding in the military and alleged that the activist staged the video.
In a statement, Justice Crack described the allegation as false and defamatory, insisting he had no authority to direct serving military personnel. He said soldiers had contacted him to complain about their welfare and that his video was intended to draw attention to their living and working conditions.
Justice Crack said the minister’s remarks could damage his reputation and reiterated that his advocacy focuses on accountability, improved welfare for security personnel and good governance.
The activist was remanded in prison in May after being arraigned on cybercrime-related charges over the viral video. Prosecutors accused him of knowingly circulating false information about the feeding of Nigerian Army personnel through his social media account, an allegation he denies.
