Former Big Brother Naija Season 4 winner Mercy Eke says fame from the reality show has made it difficult for her to find a life partner, despite the success it brought to her career.
According to Daily Post on July 18, 2026, Mercy made the remarks during an interview with media personality Toke Makinwa, where she discussed relationships, financial expectations and the impact of celebrity status on her personal life.
“I regret going to Big Brother even though I love the benefits that come from it. I fall in love so easily. Now I tell myself that I want to marry, but it’s not easy,” she said.
Mercy acknowledged that the show brought her fame, wealth, endorsement deals and business opportunities, but said it has also complicated her search for a genuine relationship. She added that she had financially supported several former partners during their relationships because they were struggling.
“I have dated guys that I have given a lot of money to, not just one or two, because they didn’t have,” she said.
Mercy’s comments have sparked discussions on social media about the challenges successful women face in relationships. Since winning the 2019 “Pepper Dem” edition, she has built a career spanning fashion, real estate, business and entertainment while largely keeping her private life out of the spotlight.
