Chief Ambrose Nwuzi, Chairman of the Rivers State Elders Council, says Governor Siminalayi Fubara could have made Rivers State second only to Lagos in infrastructure development if his administration had operated under more favourable conditions.
Speaking during an interview on SYMFONI, Nwuzi praised the governor’s performance over the past three years, saying the infrastructure projects completed despite significant challenges demonstrated the administration’s commitment to development.
“If Governor Fubara had been given more room to work, Rivers State would have become second only to Lagos in infrastructure,” Nwuzi said.
He argued that the governor’s achievements should be assessed within the context of the political and administrative difficulties facing the government, adding that the pace of development would have been greater with fewer obstacles.
According to Nwuzi, the administration remained focused on road construction and other public projects, while residents across various local government areas had witnessed improvements in infrastructure. He added that the projects delivered during the governor’s first three years reflected the administration’s capacity to execute large-scale initiatives and its commitment to expanding development across Rivers State.
