It Depends on Who You Ask Whether the US Strikes Actually Damaged Iran — Julie Stahl

CBN Middle East correspondent Julie Stahl says conflicting accounts from the United States and Iran have made it difficult to independently assess the impact of recent US military strikes on Iranian targets.

Speaking on CBN News Watch, Stahl said the US military reported carrying out 10 strikes targeting surveillance infrastructure, communication systems and drone storage facilities. Iranian officials, however, claimed the damage being highlighted resulted from earlier US operations rather than the latest weekend strikes.

“It depends on who you ask. The US military says it conducted 10 strikes… There was one report, however, that Iran said, ‘No, the damage that was done was done from previous US strikes in Iran,'” Stahl said.

She added that, in her assessment, the US operation likely caused some damage given the precision typically associated with such strikes.

Stahl also noted that Iran’s claims of damaging key infrastructure in Bahrain and Kuwait were disputed by both countries. Bahrain reported only minor damage to a residential building with no casualties, while Kuwait said all incoming drones and missiles were intercepted without causing injuries or damage. She said the conflicting claims have made it difficult to determine the true scale of the exchange despite an apparent pause in hostilities.
