“It’s a Picture of What Will Happen to the Whole World” — Kumuyi Warns on God’s Judgement on Egypt

The General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi, has said the biblical judgment on ancient Egypt serves as a warning of God’s future judgment on humanity for persistent disobedience and rejection of His call to repentance.

Speaking during a sermon streamed on YouTube, Kumuyi said the account of the final plague in Egypt, as recorded in Exodus 11:1, illustrates God’s justice and His determination to deliver the Israelites from slavery while demonstrating His supremacy over Pharaoh and the nation’s idols.

According to the cleric, the final plague came after Pharaoh repeatedly refused God’s command to release the children of Israel, resulting in widespread mourning across Egypt.

Kumuyi said the events in Exodus are not only historical but also prophetic, carrying a message for the present generation.

“It’s a picture of what is going to happen even to the whole world,” he said, adding that Pharaoh’s stubbornness and the plagues point to God’s judgment against sin.

He stressed that what happened to “sinful, evil Egypt” would also happen to “everyone without exception” who rejects God’s will, commandments, and purpose.

However, Kumuyi said God’s judgment is always preceded by an opportunity for repentance. Describing his message as “warning before the wailing,” he explained that the account in Exodus 11 demonstrates that God extends mercy and calls people to repent before executing judgment.

He urged people to respond to God’s warnings while there is still time, saying those who obey God will receive deliverance, while persistent rebellion will result in divine judgment.
