Kano Governor Abba Yusuf Orders Appointees to Join APC or Face Consequences

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has directed all political appointees in his administration who are not members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to register with the party immediately.

According to The Punch, Yusuf gave the directive during an interactive session with government officials at the Coronation Hall in Kano on Sunday, June 28, 2026. He said full alignment with the ruling party is necessary to strengthen its grassroots support ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“If you are serving in this administration and you have not registered as a member of the APC, you should do so immediately,” the governor said, adding that Kano is committed to delivering victory for the APC and President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

As part of efforts to reward loyalists, Yusuf announced the allocation of land plots to more than 300 political aides, including special assistants and reporters, as well as a ₦100,000 cash grant for each beneficiary.

Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Ismail Falgore, said the APC is well-positioned to present the achievements of President Tinubu’s administration to voters in Kano ahead of the next general election.
