A 300-level student of student of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba in Kogi State, Ocholi David Ojima, has been k!lled on campus.

Ojima was k!lled during Final Year Brethren (FYB) celebrations, on Thursday night, June 11, 2026.

According to anti-cultism organisation, Naija Confra, trouble started when some students believed to be members of a cult group reportedly appeared in their number at the heat of the celebration, and started intimidating students with uncomplimentary remarks.

In a daring move, one of the alleged cultists reportedly stepped on the foot of a rival cult member, leading to an altercation.

The rival cult member allegedly brought out a “weapon” and st@bbed the “Chief Butcher” Ocholi David Ojima, also known as “Dior”.

“During the school’s FYB Jersey Day event, it was reported that Aye cultists were present and were reportedly intimidating students while shouting, “I be J£w fade…”. The Aye cultists first had an encounter with Vikings (DNKI) cultists who outnumbered them, and the Ayes backed down,” the organisation reported.

“They later encountered a Jurist cultist who had parked his car nearby, and they tried to intimidate him with the same phrase, “I be Jew fade.”

“One of the Aye cultists reportedly stepped on the Jurist cultist’s foot, which angered him and led to the fight.

“During the altercation, the Jurist cultist brought out a we@pon and st@bbed Dior, the Aye Chief Butcher, in the chest.

“Dior fell, and his fellow Aye members initially thought he was okay because he stood up, but he later fell again, and did not survive the attack.

“When the Jurist cultist realized that Dior had fallen, he entered his car and drove off. Ayes tried to stop him by jumping on his car and throwing stones, but they did not succeed.”

The incident was said to have created tension among the students and alleged cult groups in the institution.

Following the incident, the management of the institution issued a statement banning all forms of celebration in the campus until further notice.

“The Vice chancellor of the Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba had directed to inform all students of the management’s decision that all forms of celebration on campus had been banned with immediate effect until further notice,” the statement read.

“The decision has become expedient due to serious security concerns and the need to maintain peace, order and safety within the university environments.

“Consequently, activities such as Final Year Brethren ( FYB), Cultural Association celebration, Signing out celebration, Departmental Association celebration and Faculty Association celebration, Awareness or any related festive events are no longer permitted during this period.”
