A man identified as Chinedu Anamelechi has reportedly killed his girlfriend’s sister, Ezinne Ariwodo, in Umuanga Amakama, a community in Umuahia South, Abia State.

It was gathered that the suspect, said to be part of a local security outfit, also stabbed his girlfriend with a knife and shot another young man before escaping from the area.
Although the reason behind the incident has not yet been established, the spokesperson of the Abia Police Command, Maureen Chinaka, confirmed that police officers quickly responded after receiving the report.
“Upon receipt of the report, operatives of the command swiftly moved to the scene where they found the lifeless body of the deceased in a pool of blood with gunshot wounds,” the statement read.
“The injured victims were rescued and rushed to the hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment. The deceased was confirmed d3ad by medical personnel and her remains deposited in the morgue for autopsy.”
According to the police, exhibits were also recovered from the scene.
Chinaka also stated that calm has returned to the community, urging residents to remain law-abiding, assuring them that efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the suspect.
