Labour Party National Working Committee (NWC) member Abayomi Arabambi, aligned with the Julius Abure faction, says he has petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged financial transactions involving Peter Obi and activist Aisha Yesufu.
Speaking during an interview on Symfoni TV on Thursday, July 9, 2026, Arabambi claimed he possesses information about the alleged transactions and said the matter should be investigated by the anti-graft agency.
“We know all the transfers they made; that is why I will expose them to the EFCC,” Arabambi said.
He argued that allegations involving campaign financing and public donations should be handled through lawful investigative processes rather than political debate, stressing that anti-corruption agencies should independently determine whether any laws have been violated.
Arabambi said his petition was intended to allow the EFCC to examine any available evidence objectively, adding that public confidence in democratic institutions depends on the equal application of the law. The allegations have not been independently verified, and there was no immediate response from Obi or Yesufu in the report.
