Odogwu Asaba Said He Would Use His Town’s Juju to Kill Favour; It Was What Put Her Under Pressure — Mother

The mother of the late Favour Agbro has spoken about her daughter’s death, alleging that threats made by Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu Asaba, left Favour under severe emotional pressure before she died.

Speaking in an interview with BBC Pidgin, she said Favour, who died by suicide after alleging she was sexually assaulted by Ogbonna, was deeply affected by the alleged threats.

According to Favour’s mother, Ogbonna repeatedly claimed he would use the “juju” of his town to kill her daughter, creating intense fear and distress.

“I know who my daughter was. Odogwu Asaba threatened her, and that threat put a lot of pressure on her. Because he was using the juju of his town to swear that he would use the juju to kill Favour,” she said.

Describing Favour as her best friend and favourite child, the grieving mother appealed to Nigerians to understand the family’s pain and called for justice over her daughter’s death.

If you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of suicide or overwhelming emotional distress, reaching out to a trusted person or a qualified mental health professional can help. Immediate support is important if there is concern about someone’s safety.
