Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has delivered food items and essential household supplies to the military base in Oriire Local Government Area to support security personnel deployed in the area.
According to a TVC News report aired on Sunday, July 12, 2026, the governor approved the delivery as part of ongoing efforts to improve the welfare of troops involved in maintaining security following recent operations in Oriire.
The items supplied include cows, cooking gas, foam mattresses, buckets, plates, and other daily necessities for personnel stationed at the base.
The delivery comes after the successful rescue of students, teachers, and the principal of Community High School, Esiele, who had been abducted. Security operatives played a key role in the operation.
Governor Makinde has repeatedly commended the military and other security agencies for their commitment and sacrifices during the rescue mission. He also expressed condolences over the security personnel who lost their lives in the course of the operation.
