Nigerian singer Peter Okoye has called out his twin brother, Paul Okoye, as he opened up about the issues surrounding their relationship and the reunion of their former music group, P-Square.
In a lengthy video, Peter said he was tired of being portrayed as the troublesome brother and decided to “give the truth a voice.”
He accused Paul of repeatedly throwing jabs at him and said he was now ready to give him the same energy.
Peter also claimed that their much-publicised P-Square reunion in 2021 was not genuine, explaining that he only wanted them to reconcile as brothers and not necessarily return to making music together.
According to him, the reunion happened after Paul allegedly reached out to his wife, Lola, and apologised. Peter said he later went to Paul’s house, where they hugged, leading to the viral video that made fans believe the duo had reunited.
Peter claimed that shortly afterwards, Paul told him he wanted to focus on “peace” rather than P-Square, which made him realise that they were not actually back together as a music group.
He also pushed back against claims that he had tried to bring down Paul, challenging anyone to produce a video where he had attacked his twin brother, their brother Jude or any member of Paul’s family.
Peter further claimed that he wrote and produced about 99 per cent of P-Square’s songs, while accusing his twin of making allegations against him despite the contribution he made to the group’s catalogue.
He said he is no longer interested in hiding his side of the story and promised to reveal more about the brothers’ long-running dispute.
