Veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) has revealed that one of the biggest gifts he has ever given his wife was a ₦100 million cheque, saying he encouraged her to spend it however she wished.
Speaking during an interview on The Morayo Show, RMD said the cheque was the largest he had ever received. Instead of collecting it himself, he instructed his manager to deliver it directly to his wife.
According to the actor, his wife initially asked whether she should keep the money for their children, but he insisted it was a personal gift for her.
RMD said he takes pride in giving his wife the most valuable things he owns, adding that every car he has ever acquired has eventually become hers.
He said, “The biggest cheque I have ever had in my life was 100 million naira. My manager went to pick up the cheque, I told my manager to give it to my wife. When she got it she said, ‘You want me to keep it for your children?’ I said, ‘Keep it for yourself.’ She said, ‘What do you want me to do with it?’ I said, ‘Whatever you want to do with it.’ I like to gift my wife the biggest things that I have. All the cars I have gotten in my life, she has taken all of them.”
