Yoruba nation campaigner Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has commended President Bola Tinubu and Nigeria’s security agencies for securing the release of abducted pupils and teachers in Oyo State.
According to Daily Post, Igboho, in a statement issued through his media office, praised the President’s commitment to ensuring the safe return of the victims, describing the rescue as evidence of the Federal Government’s determination to combat insecurity.
The victims, comprising pupils and staff of Community Grammar School, Ahoro-Esinle, LA Primary School and Baptist Nursery and Primary School in Yawota, were rescued after spending 56 days in captivity.
Igboho also commended the Chief of Defence Staff, the Inspector-General of Police, the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Armed Forces and other security agencies for their coordinated efforts during the operation.
He said the successful rescue demonstrated the value of collaboration among security institutions and expressed confidence that stronger cooperation between federal security agencies and local security outfits would further improve safety, particularly in Oke-Ogun, Oyo State, by protecting rural communities, farmers and schools from criminal attacks.
The rescue has been widely welcomed by political leaders, community stakeholders and members of the public, with renewed calls for sustained efforts to prevent future kidnappings.
