Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has claimed that the Obidient Movement is facing internal divisions, alleging that some members are distancing themselves from the group.
In a post on his official X account on Friday, July 17, 2026, as reported by Daily Post, Bwala said the movement was experiencing what he described as a “silent political civil war,” arguing that growing disagreements reflected deeper cracks within its ranks.
He alleged that the movement had departed from the ideals of a genuine political platform, claiming it had become associated with “hate, vitriol and unpatriotic” conduct rather than promoting good governance and national development.
Bwala further accused some supporters of frequently criticizing Nigeria, its citizens, and political leaders, saying such actions contradict the aspirations of those seeking public office.
“There is a silent political civil war going on in the Obidient camp. The realisation that it is not a political movement but a hate, vitriol and unpatriotic movement. They hate the country they want to govern,” he wrote.
He also claimed that an increasing number of members were beginning to question the movement’s direction and were leaving because they no longer believed it served a constructive political purpose.
