Counter-insurgency and security analyst Zagazola Makama has identified two men he described as brothers of notorious bandit leader Bello Turji, alleging that they have been involved in violent activities across parts of Sokoto and Zamfara states.
In a post shared on Wednesday, Makama published a photograph of the two men and claimed they were among individuals linked to the persistent insecurity affecting communities in Nigeria’s North-West region.
According to him, the men have played active roles in attacks that have disrupted the lives of residents in affected areas.
“These are the two real brothers of Bello Turji. They are ruthless and have been terrorizing the peace-loving people in Sokoto and Zamfara. They will soon meet their Waterloo,” Makama wrote.
Bello Turji is regarded as one of Nigeria’s most wanted bandit leaders and has been linked to numerous attacks, kidnappings and killings across parts of the North-West, particularly in Zamfara, Sokoto and neighbouring states.
His criminal network has remained a major security concern despite repeated military operations aimed at dismantling armed groups operating in the region.
Authorities have intensified efforts to combat banditry in the North-West, with security agencies reporting the elimination of several bandit commanders and the rescue of kidnapped victims in recent months.
Despite these operations, attacks by criminal gangs continue to pose significant security challenges to communities across the region.
