A News Central TV journalist has shared her experience after allegedly being slapped by an agbero while carrying out a street interview in Lagos.
The journalist, identified as IBK, said she and her team were on the streets conducting vox pop interviews when some people in the area became uncomfortable with the presence of cameras.
According to her, one of the men allegedly walked up behind her and slapped her across the face.
Although she said she was not seriously hurt, the incident inspired her to produce a report highlighting the activities of agberos and the concerns many Lagos residents have about them.
In the report, residents shared varying opinions, with some describing agberos as a growing security concern due to alleged harassment and violence, while others argued that many are simply struggling to survive because of the country’s economic situation.
