US: “We Should Not Spend Another Cent Arming Military That Is Committing Genocide in Palestine” — Tlaib

Palestinian-American Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib has announced her support for legislation seeking to block approximately $3.3 billion in U.S. military assistance to Israel ahead of a House of Representatives vote later this week, according to Al Jazeera.

In a post on X, Tlaib criticised continued U.S. military aid to Israel and urged lawmakers to support the measure.

“We should not spend another cent arming a military that is committing genocide in Palestine, ethnically cleansing Lebanon, and committing war crimes in Iran,” she wrote.

Tlaib also claimed that most Americans, including a majority of Democrats, support ending military aid to Israel and urged elected officials to reflect that position.

Democratic Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Greg Casar and Ilhan Omar have also announced their support for the proposal.

The bill was introduced by Republican Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky, a longstanding critic of U.S. military involvement in overseas conflicts, including the recent war involving Iran. Massie’s foreign policy positions have frequently put him at odds with President Donald Trump, whose endorsed challenger defeated him in the Republican House primary election in May.
