“We Were Negotiating When I Mistakenly Shot Myself, I Stayed in the Bush for 3 Days With the Leg” – Suspect

Operatives of the Police Force Intelligence Department’s Special Tactical Squad (FID STS) have arrested two suspected members of a kidnapping syndicate, identified as 25-year-old Buhari Adamu and 28-year-old Abubakar Saidu.

Adamu, whom police identified as the suspected gang leader, told Arise TV that he accidentally shot himself in the leg while negotiating a ransom with the family of a kidnapped victim. He said he lost track of what happened to the hostages after the incident.

“We were negotiating when I accidentally pulled the trigger and shot myself. After that, I don’t know what happened to the hostages. I stayed in the bush for three days. My leg had already begun to rot before I found someone and called out for help. I told him that armed robbers had taken my money and my motorcycle and that they had shot me,” Adamu said.

He added that the man who found him took him to a hospital, where police later tracked him down and arrested him. Authorities are continuing investigations into the activities of the suspected kidnapping syndicate.
