Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, has urged members of the church to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections, emphasizing the importance of active participation in the democratic process.
According to Punch on Sunday, July 12, 2026, Oyedepo made the appeal while preaching on “Breaking the Curses of Life” during a church service at Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State.
The cleric encouraged Christians to take an active interest in governance, stressing that citizens have a constitutional right to determine who leads the country through the ballot.
“We have a right to determine who rules us. And this church, with the millions that we have, has a say in it. So be part of it,” he said.
Oyedepo noted that the church’s large membership gives it a significant voice in Nigeria’s democratic process, provided members are registered and ready to vote.
He, however, reaffirmed that Living Faith Church remains non-partisan, stating that his message was not an endorsement of any political party or candidate but a call for responsible citizenship. He added that he has never campaigned for elective office or solicited votes for himself, maintaining that believers should fulfill their civic responsibilities while preserving the church’s political neutrality.
