Why I Broke My Grandmother’s Head With a Pestle Until She Fainted — Adelu Ibukunoluwa Reveals

Adelu Ibukunoluwa has recounted the childhood experiences she says led her to attack her grandmother and flee their home naked.

Speaking in an interview with Talk to B on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, Adelu alleged she grew up in a home where her father and grandmother openly favoured her older sister, repeatedly telling her the sibling was loved more because she was “born with tears.” She said her father maintained that paying her school fees was sufficient despite her pleas for affection.

Adelu said the situation worsened when her grandmother allegedly told her she regretted asking Adelu’s father to take her back at the age of three. She said the remarks pushed her to attack her grandmother with a pestle until she fainted before fleeing the house naked and spending the night outside. Her mother arrived the following day, after which her father allegedly disowned her.

She later lived with her mother’s pastor, where she became pregnant at 18. Now 21, Adelu said she has also experienced alleged trafficking and exploitation in Saudi Arabia and currently lives with her daughter.
