House of Representatives Majority Leader Julius Ihonvbere has praised Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, describing him as the best-performing minister in Nigeria’s federal cabinet.
Speaking at a public event covered by TVC News, Ihonvbere commended the transformation of the FCT and credited President Bola Tinubu with prioritizing competence over political affiliation in appointments.
According to him, Tinubu is willing to work with individuals who have the “competence, capacity, ability, energy to work and deliver, and the track record” to achieve results, regardless of their political party.
Referring to Wike as his former student, Ihonvbere said the minister has consistently demonstrated an ability to deliver.
“Though belonging to another party, he became minister, but today I can stand here and say the best-performing minister in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and I’m proud of that,” he said.
He also commended Wike and the Minister of State for the FCT for their commitment, innovation, and patriotism, describing the changes in the capital city as “monumental, unprecedented, and unbelievable.” Ihonvbere added that the transformation of the FCT reflects a renewed focus on governance, infrastructure, and public service delivery.
