10 Things You Probably Did Not Know About Popular Actress Temitope Osoba, Who Died After Cancer Battle

The Nigerian film industry is mourning the death of Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba, whose passing was announced by fellow actor Alesh Sanni on Wednesday, prompting tributes from colleagues and fans.

According to the report, Osoba’s death came less than a year after she publicly marked her return to acting following her recovery from breast cancer, describing the experience as a period of “rebranding, reshaping and rebuilding.”

Born and raised in Lagos State, Osoba earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Education from Olabisi Onabanjo University before beginning her acting career in 2005. She rose to prominence after featuring in the Yoruba film Oogun Mi, produced by actress Dayo Amusa, and went on to appear in films including Gucci Girls, Igboro Ti Daru, Omo Tee and Twinny Mi. She also produced the film Single Ladies.

According to the report, Osoba disclosed her battle with cancer about two years before her death and appealed for public support for her treatment. After surviving the illness, she returned to acting on August 4, 2025, and pledged to use her platform to promote cancer awareness and support others facing similar health challenges.
