Barr. Osa Director, National Publicity Secretary of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed confidence that Peter Obi will contest the 2027 presidential election under the party’s platform despite ongoing legal challenges over its registration.
Speaking on Trust TV on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, Director said the NDC remains committed to strengthening its nationwide structures while pursuing all legal avenues to resolve the dispute over its registration and logo.
“I know that Peter Obi will be on the ballot under the platform of the NDC,” he said, expressing confidence that the court proceedings would ultimately be resolved in the party’s favour.
Director argued that all qualified political parties should be allowed to present candidates without unnecessary interference and urged Nigerians to determine their leaders through a free and transparent electoral process.
He also called on NDC supporters to remain calm and continue grassroots mobilisation, expressing optimism that democratic institutions would uphold the rule of law as preparations for the 2027 general election continue.
