Yinusa Tanko, Global Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, has expressed confidence that a joint presidential ticket involving Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso will contest the 2027 general election.
Speaking during an interview on Symfoni TV on Monday, June 29, 2026, Tanko told a press conference that the movement remains focused on its political objectives despite ongoing legal and political developments.
“The joint ticket of Obi and Kwankwaso will be on the ballot,” he said, urging supporters not to be discouraged by recent controversies.
Tanko stressed that political success depends on organisation, unity and sustained engagement with voters. He said the movement would continue pursuing its goals through peaceful campaigns and constitutional means while encouraging Nigerians to participate actively in the democratic process.
He also called on political stakeholders to uphold democratic principles by ensuring equal opportunities for all parties seeking public office. According to Tanko, strong political competition promotes accountability and gives voters meaningful choices in free and credible elections.
