Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has declared that he would work against Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, accusing him of betraying his trust and taking control of his structures within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking during an interview with Channels Television on Monday, June 22, 2026, Fayose expressed dissatisfaction with Makinde’s leadership and said the governor’s actions had caused a major setback for the party.
Fayose also disclosed his personal ties to Ibadan, stating that he was born at Oluyoro Hospital and that his father lived in the Isale-Osi area of the city.
“I was born at Oluyoro Hospital in Ibadan; my father used to live at Isale-Osi. The current Olubadan is my colleague; we are working together, including all Makinde’s enemies,” Fayose said.
The former governor added that he is about 11 years older than Makinde and believes he deserves respect from the Oyo State governor.
