I Live in Room and Parlour, My Wife Lives in the Big House; I Don’t Go There If She Isn’t Around — Obi

Former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi has revealed that although he owns a large house in Onitsha, he chooses to live in a separate one-bedroom apartment with a sitting room where he keeps all his personal belongings.

Speaking in a video shared by Advocacy For Good Governance, Obi explained that the arrangement was based on an agreement with his wife, Margaret, who preferred building a larger residence.

According to Obi, his wife lives in the big house, while he stays in his smaller apartment. He added that he only goes to the main house when his wife is present and avoids entering it when she is away.

“I said why don’t we just build a small house, she said no she wants a very big house. I said fine, as long as we are going to have an agreement that you will build a big house but you are going to build one room and parlour for me. So this is where I live, everything I have is here,” Obi said.

He added, “My wife lives in the big house. When she comes back, I go there and sleep because she is there. If she is not around, I don’t even enter there or go near there.”
