Primate Ayodele to Kwankwaso: I Never Defamed You, I Only Shared Prophecy Received from God

Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has rejected allegations of defamation made by former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, insisting that his comments about the politician were based on what he described as a divine revelation.

According to a report by The Cable on June 25, 2026, Ayodele was responding to a reported N10 billion defamation suit threatened by Kwankwaso over remarks made during a sermon that was recorded and streamed online.

Kwankwaso, through his lawyers, reportedly accused the cleric of making statements that questioned his political relationship with Peter Obi and suggested financial motives behind his acceptance of a vice-presidential role.

In a statement issued through his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele maintained that his remarks were prophetic rather than personal.

“It has come to my attention that the former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has alleged that I wrongly accused him in my recent prophecy concerning his political ambition,” he said.

“I wish to make it clear that my prophecies are never intended to defame, malign or attack anyone. I only communicate messages as they are revealed to me by God.”

Ayodele stated that he has no personal dispute with Kwankwaso and holds him in high regard. He further claimed that his comments had been misunderstood and misrepresented by individuals pursuing political interests.

The cleric urged public figures mentioned in his prophecies to seek clarification before resorting to legal action and warned against the manipulation or editing of his video messages for political or personal purposes.
