A woman injured during a kidnapping attempt in the Ogbere Forest area of Ogun State has recounted how armed men attacked her family before security operatives rescued her.
According to a report by Punch published on Saturday, June 27, 2026, the victim said the gunmen emerged on the road, blocked her vehicle, and ordered her to step out, leaving her with no chance to escape.
She said the attackers opened fire during the confrontation, leaving her with gunshot wounds as panic spread through the area. Despite her injuries, one of the kidnappers returned to the vehicle and forcibly took more members of her family.
The victim said the armed men abducted her child, sister, and other relatives in a series of rapid movements amid the confusion.
Security operatives later responded to the scene and rescued her after the attack.
Recalling the ordeal, she said, “He grabbed my daughter… and he shot me. He came back again, grabbed my sister and me.”
